How does ZUGFeRD / Factur-X work?
ZUGFeRD 2.2 (called Factur-X in France) is a hybrid PDF standard. InvoYX generates a regular PDF invoice that also contains an embedded XML file with structured invoice data. Accounting software like DATEV, Lexoffice, and SAP can read this XML and automatically import all line items, tax rates, and totals — saving hours of manual data entry for your tax advisor.
What happens if I lose my phone?
If you've made an AES-256 encrypted backup, just restore it on your new device with your PIN. The backup is a ZIP file you can send anywhere — save it to your files, email it to yourself, send it via WhatsApp, or store it in the cloud. You're in full control. No backup means no recovery — because InvoYX never uploaded your data anywhere. That's the privacy guarantee: nobody can lose or leak what was never on a server.
Can my tax advisor (Steuerberater) import my invoices?
Yes, two ways. (1) ZUGFeRD PDFs: your advisor's DATEV/Lexoffice/SAP reads the embedded XML and imports automatically. (2) DATEV CSV: export a 42-field Buchungsstapel CSV file and send it to your advisor. Plus 26 other country-specific accounting formats through the AccountingExporter engine.
How does the voucher system work?
You can create vouchers (Gutschein) with a code. When a client pays with a voucher, you can redeem it against an invoice — full or partial. Multiple vouchers can be stacked on one invoice. Gift mode creates a €0 receipt showing the gift value. Code mode tracks redemption by code. This is the most flexible voucher system in any invoicing app.
Why offline-first? Isn't cloud more convenient?
Cloud is convenient — for the company storing your data. For you, it means monthly fees, GDPR liability, and trusting a third party with your client list and financials. InvoYX runs entirely on your device. Your data, your control. Share invoices via your own email or WhatsApp — you choose the channel.
